A friendly destination with a change of scenery

make-up at Annecy campsite

Camping accommodation is the best choice for your little ones. In the heart of nature, with all the comforts of home.
At the campsite, your little ones will meet lots of new people. They can spend fun-filled days with a team of entertainers and a varied program, or between 2 visits they can enjoy a 600m² water park, a huge playground and plenty of other quality services and facilities.
In a tent for an adventurous stay, in one of our mobile home ranges for greater comfort, or in a Safari tent for the “Glamping” touch… It’s up to you to set the scene!
Annecy is well known for its snow and winter sports, but summer is of course THE best time to enjoy the lake. The climate is that of the mountains, with cooler nights and pleasant daytime temperatures of between 25 and 35°. At this time of year, the water in the lake is very good, so your toddlers will have a great time.
A two-week stay is “IDEAL” for settling in, discovering and relaxing.

At Gorges du fier

In Lovagny, about 10 km from Annecy, a spectacular and unforgettable visit for the whole family! To discover the Gorges du Fier and its canyon, you enter a gigantic mass of boulders on a 250-metre-long footbridge set 25 metres high… quite impressive! You’ll discover countless giant potholes carved out by the river, and natural light and shadow effects. Enchantment in the heart of nature!
Not far from the gorge, you can visit the Château de Montrottier. You can picnic by the river or in the château grounds. Montrottier invites you on a fabulous journey through time, and goes all out for your children! Start by dipping into the medieval costume trunk and dressing them up for the duration of your visit.
In the gardens, a fun and interactive scenographic trail, go on the hunt for the Pommes-Pidoux hidden in the château. Whether they’re young knights or beautiful princesses, Montrottier: your kids will love it!

Around the lake by bike?

It couldn’t be easier: rent your bikes, mountain bikes and children’s equipment directly from the campsite reception desk, and set off on one of France’s oldest greenways. Just 500m from the campsite, you can easily travel 35km and discover an exceptional environment… Lake Annecy, its beaches and Savoyard villages.
The west bank is very easy, with little or no gradient, but the east bank is more complicated. The track doesn’t exist on the entire shoreline. From time to time, you’ll have to drive along the road, so be careful with young children, as there’s a lot of traffic. For the safety of young children, we recommend the use of carts, bike seats, or followers for 4-7 year old beginners.

Relaxation & fun

½ day of pure recreation?

3 accrobranches to do near l’Idéal campsite

For the little ones, we recommend Crique Parc in Saint-Jorioz. Fun tree courses for 3-8 year-olds. Before returning to the campsite, enjoy a picnic on the Saint-Jorioz beach, right next to the park.

A quiet day?

After a gentle wake-up call and a hearty breakfast, not forgetting a delicious viennoiserie from the campsite bakery, we recommend a short walk from the campsite. A day in ANNECY
Visit or shop, you’ll be won over by the charm of the “Venice of the Alps”.
Leave by boat from the port of Doussard, located 900m from the campsite. The visit of the lake and its mountains begins with the Cruise (1h) to Annecy. On arrival, stroll along the cobbled streets, admire the Palais de l’Ile (which can be visited), and enjoy the old town’s colorful facades and canals. Keep strolling in the direction of the Pâquier for an ice cream, a ride on the merry-go-round or a trip over the famous Pont des Amours, which is just stunning, with the Jardin de l’Europe on one side and the Champ de Mars on the other.

Chateau de Menthon – Roc de Chère viewpoint

Visit the beautiful Château de Menthon Saint Bernard. 12th-century castle with 1000 years of history. Walt Disney is said to have used it as inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s castle… Guided tours of around 45 minutes in French (a paper version is available in English). At weekends, the tours are given by amateur actors who bring the castle’s history to life.
Le Roc de Chère, located between Menthon and Talloires, is the perfect place for a family outing around Annecy, whatever the weather. It’s an ecologically rich protected forest with a Mediterranean atmosphere and magnificent panoramic views of Lake Annecy and the surrounding peaks. Access is fairly easy, with no difficulties and several possible routes. Cumulative ascent 175 m.

Visit one of the oldest businesses on the lakefront. It dates back to 1796 and works magic with molten metal. You’ve probably seen or heard them near you, as they’re known the world over. You guessed it!
Discover the PACCARD bell museum. History, ancestral techniques, chimes, new technologies, workshop tours…. They tell you everything.
The site is open all year round and for everyone, whether you’re discovering it as a family, on a holiday with a baby, during the off-season or even in rainy weather.

Rediscover the mountains with the whole family!

A day at La Clusaz/ Gd Bornand

La Clusaz offers a great playground, a typical Savoyard heritage to discover and breathtaking views.
Le Grand Bornand, a very pleasant village next to La Clusaz, is also worth a visit with children. Especially at the end of August, during the week-long “Le Bonheur des mômes” festival, with lots of games and free shows. For those who love markets, the ones in La Clusaz and Le Gd Bornand are a real treat! You’ll find sublime local products, as well as handicrafts, clothing and even entertainment for children…

A day in the Sambuy resort

Station La Sambuy is above all a splendid site with views of Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy. Another fun way for kids to discover the mountains. After testing 600m of descent through the forest on a summer toboggan, we recommend a beautiful chairlift ascent to discover an exceptional site in the heart of the mountain pastures. A mountain guide will be delighted to share the secrets of the mountains with you. A fun, family-friendly 30-minute mini-hike. On arrival, many activities: Via ferrata, climbing, go-karting, snow tubing, tubby jump, giant trampoline, wooden games… Located 20 minutes from the campsite.
On the way down, stop off at the Seythenex caves and waterfall, a magical site that’s 100% natural. The only cave open to the public in Haute-Savoie. A 40-minute guided tour of the cave: don’t forget to bring a sweater for the visit 😉 (approx. 10°C in the cave)

A day in the ALPAGE

We recommend a walk around Mont Charvin and La Thulle. Ideal for children, with only 300m of ascent, this trail takes you to a plateau with breathtaking panoramic views. We recommend a meal at the Chalet du Freu, where you can sample Savoyard specialities and farm produce.
Families can also wander around the mountain pasture on the various paths. For walkers, there are many possibilities, including the Tournette – Aravis itinerary, as well as the Tour du Sulens itinerary, which passes close to Lac du Charvin.

In the Bout du Lac reserve, a 2km marked trail, easy to do with children. There are many birds to admire in this marshy area, and you may be lucky enough to come across the beaver family. You can continue your day with a swim, a picnic or just lazing on the beach at Doussard. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of being on the shores of the lake for a boat trip (with or without a license) or pedal boat ride for a little more fun. Remember to book 2 days in advance with our partner 😉 : ponton Deronzier (pedalo rates negotiated).

East bank ANGON /Talloires

Eating out

Of course, the campsite has its own restaurant. Our chef cooks fresh, high-quality produce, and you can sample some Savoyard specialities. Our pizzas are a great success, with customers appreciating not only the homemade dough and sauce, but also the quality toppings.

If you’re looking for a change of scenery, I recommend :

La Ferme, at the top of the Col de La Forclaz: a family-run restaurant serving typical local dishes at very affordable prices (with a special recommendation for the potato fritters!).
If you’re looking for a refined restaurant on the shores of Lake Annecy, I recommend Chez ma cousine, 700m from the campsite.
